Mrs Chavez

I am Yadira J. Pineda-Chavez.  I am your child’s fourth grade teacher and I am excited to begin working with your children and to get to know each other. I am a product of the Los Angeles Unified School School District; I attended elementary, middle school, and high school all in the South Bay Area. I then continued my collegiate education at California State University Long Beach there I graduated with a Bachelors in Political Science with a minor in Chicano Studies.  I have worked with elementary school children in Los Angeles Unified School District for the past 11 years. I began working with students as a teacher's aide then continued as a Substitute teacher in grades Kindergarten through Eight grade, finally attaining my teaching credential five years ago.

I love teaching! It's a simple statement that sums up my view. I  love coming to work everyday and being able to teach our school scholars. They bring me joy and watching them develop and discover who they are as the school year progresses is an indescribable feeling that not many people get to experience. Thank you for allowing me the privilege to teach your child this year. It is a team effort and I thank you in advance for the all the hard work and support you give; I could not do this job without you.

Even though, this school year will not be started in a regular manner by physically being in the classroom, through our online platform in fourth grade I will be teaching your children a well-rounded education curriculum that includes: Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Visual Arts, Physical Education, and Music through synchronous and asynchronous lessons. Positive behavior will be implemented through the entire school year.
